Radical
Raptors School of Falconry is directed by Master Falconer Gary
Worley. Gary's fascination with raptors and the craft of falconry
began at the age of 11 when he obtained his first bird,
an owl that led to a life-long commitment spanning 30+ years in the training,
breeding and the conservation of birds of prey.

|
Gary owned and operated the National School of Falconry,
NSF Bird Control and Wildlife Management in England for
15 years. He has bred and trained high quality falcons
for falconers throughout the UK and for the ruling
family of Qatar. |
 |
|
In 1980 Gary was selected as a participant in a
hunting demonstration that was presented to H.R.H.
Queen Elizabeth. In 2000, he had the honor to take
Prince Philip on a hunting trip with Harris Hawks. |
|
|
Gary established the first Bird of Prey
center (Pacific North West Raptors) in British Columbia.
Gary directs falconry demonstrations at locales
such as Grouse Mountain and continues to do so at the
Greater Vancouver Zoo. He has provided consultation to the
Kamloops wildlife park regarding their birds of prey
presentations set up requirements. Gary’s received the
2005 "BC Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the category
of "Exceptional Sharing of Knowledge and Teaching of
Others’. |

When visiting the Greater Vancouver Zoo, make it a point to meet
Hagrid the great horn owl and attend one of the free
Radical Raptors "Bird of Prey" shows.
